Nursery (0 - 12 mo)

Babies at Canyon Church are shown the love of God by being played with, held and cared for!

Walkers & Preschool (13 mo - 5 yrs)

Currently we are combining the Walker and Preschool classes as there has been a small number of children in these classes. We are watching attendance closely and as this class grows, we are ready to split the Preschoolers into their own classroom.

Today we were able to use our lesson, as our first preschoolers attended! All of the kids learned that they can talk to God like a friend.

Bible Story: 1 Samuel 17:34-37
Before David was a mighty king, he was a shepherd. He talked to God as he watched his sheep! When he faced the giant Goliath he prayed and talked to God. We can be like David and talk to God about what's important to us and what we are afraid of.

Memory Verse:
I pray to you. Answer me because you love me sooo much! Psalm 69:13

Live It: Have your child...Think about something to talk to God about.

Elementary (Kindergarten through 5th grade)

This classroom will also be split into smaller groups as attendance grows.

The kids are continuing a series called "What's Bugging You?" Today they discussed "Fellowship." Our prayer is that each child will see the importance of living with and doing life with others.

Bible Story: Acts Chapter 18
When Paul was traveling on a missionary journey in Greece, he came upon a couple named Aquila and Priscilla. Paul became a close friend with them because they were tentmakers just like Paul had been. Paul helped them by sharing the word of God with them. They even had a chance to travel with Paul and spread God’s word, but they felt most effective providing others a place to worship. In those days, people had churches in their homes. Aquila and Priscilla continued to use their home as a place for people to come and learn about God. It is easy to imagine that anywhere Aquila and Priscilla lived would be a real place of fellowship.

Key Point:
It is important to spend time with other Christians. Fellowship with others is crucial in our relationship with God. When we are feeling down our Christian friends can help us up, and when our friends are feeling down we can help them up!

Memory Verse:
So in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:5 NIV

Live It: Have your child...
1. Talk to a you about what the word fellowship means
2. Write down the name of one person they will befriend this week.
